for the next forum i have an idea. when you have a pm, you get a pop up that says:

You have new private message.
Would you like to open it with a new window?
from:name
title of message: blah blah blah

the underline is where you click it for a new link.
i noticed people usually don't check there pm here. once they log in they have a pop up kinda like penguin kingdom.

phpBB3 does have this feature and it is a profile option for when you register on the new forums.

If the pop up gets blocked, I think there is something that get's around the pop up blocker.

No, I'm just saying that phpBB3 already does that and I think it is normally turned on, however I'm not going to stop people disabling it as it's personal preference.
